Gimp or Photoshop

    To the graphic artist which one is better Photoshop or Gimp? Which one is easier to use and which one helps to produce better quality art work.

    I'm no graphics artist but the ones I know prefer Photoshop always. I'm forced to use Gimp at work due to no license, which is a shame!

    There is a lot of graphic software out there that is as good or better than Photoshop...but it really depends upon what you need...and how much you can afford....

    Photoshop is better, gimp is free. From my point of view, free word is a clue.

    Gimp has fewer features than photoshop, but it is free.

    Depends on a number of things but the main two I'd say are budget and user requirements.

    Although I find Gimp provides ample feature for making web banners, sigs etc
