Hi All, Im considering buying a new pc, my current Pc runs on older hardware (DDR2, Socket AM2+ AMD etc.) I have been looking at a few Pc's and my budget is around £400. I want a decent gaming Pc, not bothered about monitor and keyboard etc. Just the Pc. I narrowed it down to three, but i cant decide which is best. Any help would be appreciated. Links to the three are below. Thanks http://www.dinopc.co.uk/shop/pc/Gallant-AMD-555-94p1023.htm http://www.ramcsuk.co.uk/epages/es139935.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es139935/Products/008 http://www.arbico.co.uk/Arbico-Intel-4157-Wolfdale-Custom-Built-Gaming-System-p-.html
The middle one, definitely (http://www.ramcsuk.co.uk/epages/es139935.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es139935/Products/008). It's X4 processor beats the other X2 and Core 2 Duo processors. The last on is a joke compared to this choice (still has DDR2 and an old Core 2 Duo Processor). The first one wouldn't be a bad choice if it had something better than a Phenom X2. So, the middle one will give you more bang for your buck.
Thanks for the help, I was looking at this one as well http://www.ramcsuk.co.uk/epages/es1...ps/es139935/Products/015/SubProducts/115-0003 It comes with windows 7 installed but a triple core processor and a 5570 gfx card, will that play games like crysis 2 and cod black ops or should I stick with the other pc you said?
Hm, tough. I didn't look at the operating system offered in the first one (ununtu?). Lol, i didn't know companies installed Linux in their products nowadays. The second one you just sent me has a better power supply, which won't make a differene in performance anyway but will help you out if you ever want to upgrade your card. If there's any way you can get XP or Windows 7, i would stick with the first option. I wouldn't sacrifice the X4 for an X3 just because of the O/S. You must have an Windows disc lying around somewhere! Linux isn't for the unskilled user. It takes time getting used to. Also, installing games on it requires a bit more work than it does on Windows. And yes, you'll run Black Ops or Crysis at high settings nicely with both cards.
Thanks again for the advice, i think i might go for the one with windows 7 pre installed, I have a Windows Xp disk spare but id like to be more up to date and give windows 7 a blast. Cheers.
