My MSI motherboard K8T Neo2 died few days back after 6+ years. So I am planning to buy the following new Intel Processor and mobo, DH67VR Intel motherboard and i3-2100 Processor Please suggest if this Intel motherboard is good to go, or shall I buy one of these, MSI H67MA-E35, Gigabyte H67M-D2-B3 , ASUS P8H67-M ? Also please clarify on the below points, 1) Does the Intel motherboard has Onboard Graphics to connect my VGA cable from monitor? 2) Which RAM should I buy for the Intel board? 2 GB DDR3 I am planning to buy. And if so, 1066 or 1333 ? And which brand, Corsair or transcend? 3) I am having old Cabinet bought in the year 2005 but in good condition. It has only 1 cooling fan at back side. Can I use the same one for the above products or dual cooling fan cabinet is recommended? Thanks in advance.
1. Yes, the Intel does have an integrated HD video card. 2. Get at least 4gb, DDR3. Don't worry about the speed or brand. Just make sure the sticks you get have compatible speeds with your board. 3. Cabinet? I think you mean Case friend. It's always best to have a system with good cooling, whether you want to game or just surf the web. Get yourself a new case that has around 4 fans and youre good to go. Most cases already come with fans so you don't have to buy them separately. The Intel board has a form factor (size) MicroATX, so you need to make sure your old case, or the new one, supports MicroATX sized motherboards. All the boards listen above are similar and are all trusted brands (at least for me). At this point i'd make a decision based on price.
Ok..Thanks ! For DH67VR, it shows # of SATA Ports as nil and # of SATA 6.0 Gb/s Ports as 2 I am not sure if both are same and the difference between them. But I need a SATA port compulsarily to connect my SATA Hard disk drive. 1) Please confirm if I can connect my SATA HDD in DH67VR. 2) And my LCD monitor is having DVI-D input and VGI as well. But the mobo has DVI-I and HDMI outputs. So will I be able to connect DVI-D cable from my monitor? Thanks.
