I have hp dx2000 mt PC and if I power it only the PSU and the Hard drives comes on. Both the CPU and chassis fans are not working and the system is not coming up. I tried both the PSU and the CPU in a different hp machine and they were all working alright Please what can be the problem now? Please i need your help. Thanks
Can you tell me what was it like before it started doing this ? Was there ANY power surges or lightning strike's close by.... This is not a good sign,It usually means the Motherboard went out... Is there any Video ? can you get into your Bio's ?
Thanks for the reply. Well I was rendering a wedding coverage footage and all of a sudden the monitor went to standby mode so i decided to move the mouse and the screen never power up again. But i can still here the system running and all of sudden i then realize that the the CPU and chassis fan are not rolling so i quickly turn off the machine. For about 10 minutes I try powering it on again and only the drives with the PSU comes on. The system it self refuse to power up. I can't just now figure out what to do to the motherboard because I tried the CPU, RAM and PSU in a different hp dx2000 machine and were all working.
Yea! it sounds like the Motherboard fried,How old is this computer ? Do you have computer skills ? If you do, You could change the Motherboard if it is worth it to you.. If you would like to change the motherboard, then give the specks/Info of your computer... Make /model ...
Yes I will like to change the motherboard. It's model is hp dx2000 mt (micro tower) with a processor Intel Celeron 2.60 GHz and 1 GB of RAM.
It says it is a 478 socket,I need a screen shot of the back I/O plate..Also you need a screen shot of the inside..
I notice someone selling this model refurbished for only $69 on ebay. It could be good to buy the whole machine for parts. from what i can see its a micro atx motherboard which would likely cost you around the same as this whole system. http://compare.ebay.com/like/290588878850?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y
Yea ! You have to be real careful on eBay, You could be getting something worst than you already have..If it was me,I would just buy either a new Motherboard Or get Another computer... You can get real nice used PC's for cheap now days..You can probably find a 3.4 ghz or 3.6 ghz with 1 or 2 gigs of ram for about $160.00 bucks. I would have to look at one of my places... take a look here.. http://www.computer-show.com/ccp3210-dell-gx620-tower-pentium-4-3-4ghz-160gb-2gb-dvd-xp-sys1935.htm
