I would like to build a computer for photo editing and storage.
Everything will be in 2D, need fast access photo database and use of photoshop and lightroom.
I want fast response on every mouse click and fast response on hard drive access and query.
I want to build an Intel system, it must beat Mac Pro in term of response otherwise I will go straight to MAC.
Normal image size from 10Mb to 200Mb, each photo library to be limited to 4GB.
Any suggestion on which combination of hardware? Fast reaction is the key.

    Thanks.

Newegg and other sites are having issues today i guess because of the added traffic for cyber monday. but pair these 4 parts with a nice power supply, case and video card. From what you are describing the 120 gig SSD drive would suit you but if you need a larger one they do go up into crazy price ranges, but they add the most extreme performance gains available today.

How much are you looking to spend? The memory that M_Kincy picked out is not worth the extra money you will be fine with 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM. Let me know and I'll price out a build for you. Plus unless you plan on overclocking the CPU you don't need the 2600k, and the motherboard is over priced.

    Thanks M_Kincy.
I think for fast read/write SSD is a must. I am investigating whether raid-1 with 2 SSD will further improve I/O speed? Since I will be using multi-cored CPU.
I will not do overclock cause I need a fast but very stable machine, preferably low heat and doesn't require large and noisy heat sink.
2nd Gen Intel CPU sandy bridge supports only up to dual channel 1333 MHz ram modules, will I benefit from using Mushkin 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133? Also 8GB enough for Photoshop?

If you're not going to OC your ram you will not benefit from 2133. but, you can OC the ram and OC the CPU to 4.5 ghz with a stock cooler. I do use raid 1 with my SSD drives but for fault tolerance. I did not test the drives in a single drive configuration prior to building the array, I can tell you however that testing them in a raid 1 the results are exactly in-line with the manufactures specifications of the drives speed, No increase that i can test. I would use 16 gigs of ram, i meant to put x2 beside that link.
