/me helping an old aunt (or great aunt, I can't remember) recover data from a Hard Drive. I got it out and realized the noise was probably coming from a misshapen "platter". Now I just need to straighten it a little and put it back in although I may need a new case since I didn't have a hex driver and had to force it open but I think it will be fine. /me just glad she didn't lose the Christmas pictures and video (she would kill me, lol).

I figured I would just repair it so it could read the photos/data. Any tips are welcome; I'm having trouble matching the case back up 100% and finding the right width/pitch screws for it.

OK, got the "platter" back in the drive. It is a little loose. But I think it can work. The noise isn't the same as before so I think it is the magnets reading the data (hopefully, lol). I need to got get some DVDs from Best Buy to burn the pics when it comes back on line.
