Hey guys, so I have recently upgraded my cpu from an old I7 2.26ghz to a new i7 960 3.2ghz. It allows up to 24 gigs of ram? or 16. Something much more then I have. I have windows 64 bit, a motherboard which supports up to 24 gigs and I just dont know what to do! Heres a pic too.

Its only allowing 8 gigs of ram. It makes no sense to me and as it says I have 12. In the BIOS it says I have 12 as well and I cant find any sort of memory remapping option in the AWARD Bios. HELP! I forgot to add that for some reason when I go to task manager, performance, click performance monitor and then memory it actually says that I have 4 gigs of ram in reserve?

Which motherboard is it? Is all the RAM from the same manufactured or mixed?

It's an X58 classified motherboard. And it's alll the same ram. Sniper G skill 3 channel ram I believe. I have tried a fresh install of windows and I flashed my bios because I had to update it anyways.
