Hi, I've decided to buy a SSD to speed up my computer as the loading time to boot the PC up is very load as well as playing some games such as SWTOR. So I've been told I need to keep my old HDD and use my SSD with it as SSD's are very small in memory compared to HDD's but run much faster with better performance.

My problem is that If I'm using 2 hard drives at the same time on one PC, how do I set my new SSD to be the one with the OS and be the one to boot up with? Would I need to un-install my OS on my original HDD as well? And how do I set it so that the SSD is now the main hard drive? Never done this before so its very confusing for me. Thank you.

My first idea would be make a image of the harddisc that has your OS installed atm (hopefully the whole HD does still use lesss space than your new ssd HD will have freespace, if not it doesnt work) and then copy your image on your ssd after that delete your old hd.

One thing is for sure if you want your ssd to be the hd you want to boot up from you will a) need to install a OS there and b) select in your Bios that Bios should boot up from there. Depending on your system you have to put the ssd in the sata slot one (or master) or if even older (ide) you have to jumper it to master.
while i never tried it once you have done the rewireing it shouldn't even matter if there is a second os on a "slave" hdd but perhaps someone can confirm this?
