Dell notebook got a virus and I formatted it and installed all the drivers yet the wireless wont be detected? My dell Inspiron 1505 notebook got a virus and stopped functioning so my brother formatted it for me. We reinstalled the windows XP and all the drivers and applications it came with. For some reason it will not detect our (or any) wireless network. I'm not sure what to do in this situation, and our warranty has expired.

Can you get online with the cable ? Do not install Norton but Install AVAST instead... Norton is Bloatware... You probably just didnt get the right Wifi driver installed.
which one did you install ?

    Hi,

Your laptop should have a dell service tag sticker somewhere on it or you can also find the number inside of the BIOS. Once you locate the tag, go to support.dell.com, choose support for home users, then choose drivers and downloads. On the next screen you can enter in your service tag. This will bring you to a page with all the drivers for hard ware on your laptop where you should be able to find the one for your dell wireless card. Also check in the BIOS to be sure that the wireless card is enabled in there, if it isnt then windows will not see it.
