    To do this, you'll have to open the cover of the external hard drive and pull out the disk. Then you can connect it to your motherboard.

    Hi,

    Once you have the hard drive out of the external enclosure you need to plug in 2 cables, one is the data cable whether it is a SATA cable or IDE cable (depends on the kind of hard drive you have) which will plug into the motherboard itself, and the other is a power cable which will either be a 4 pin molex power connector or it will be a standard SATA power cable. These will be cables coming out of the power supply itself. Once you plug in both of those, you should be able to use the drive internally. Depending on the computer case you have, you will either need to lock it into a hard drive bay or you may need to screw it into place to secure the drive.
