I got a new IBM lenovo thinkpad edge laptop from my brother purchased from Saudi Arabia and i am unable to find the model of laptop. I am facing a problem in my laptop, when i tilt laptop during working it hangs for few seconds and then operates normally, i checked this issue when i play a song or movie. can any one tell me that is it the feature (so that the hard disk media could not get damage) or a problem? kindly help me out please.

    Hi,

I am not aware of a safety feature for hard drives like what you are describing. It sounds like when you are tilting the laptop it may be forcing the heads out of position maybe in the hard drive. Most of today's hard drives are supposed to be more durable so you can tilt a laptop with no issues while the computer is running. Older drives were not built for this. If it is an older hard drive that might be why it is happening. If you can get another hard drive, it may be worth trying to swap it out to see if that makes the difference.

    Thanks Geek...
I could not replace the harddisk by myself as its in warranty. This problem didnt occur most of time but sometime even may b after 2 days...
have you ever seen this one?

Unfortunately i haven't seen this problem before. If your laptop is still under warranty though, I would give IBM a call or send their tech support an email and ask them if it is normal for your model laptop.
