    Hi,

I recently got HP Pavilion h8-1214 and connected it with 27" Samsung SyncMaster SA850. I've installed all the drivers listed on HP website and have installed the monitor drivers. Everything looks good on 1920x1080 but when I switch to the recommended 2560x1440, things start looking choppy and that resolution is pretty much unusable

Does anyone have any insight about this?

Sounds like the driver for the higher Resolution is not the right one..You might need an after market one...

From the way I understand seems your HP Pavilion h8-1214 driver for graphic card can not really match with capacity of your Samsung S27A850D, may be you need to update your graphic card for the first step.

You're suppose not to have this kind of issue since from Samsung S27A850D specs able to catch up resolution 2560 x 1440 and if I'm not mistaken your video card is Radeon HD 7450 with maximum resolution 2560 x 1600. I think you need to check the PSU also, there's a possibility the PSU unable to power up due to so many device attached. tq
