Ok so I built this machine January 2012 and ran windows 7 32-bit on it for a year and a half without any problems at all, here are the links to all my hardware components. Mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130571 Hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145304 Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 Processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074 Power Supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152036 Ram - 2 x 4gb ddr 1333 In may 2013 I switched to windows 7 64 bit ultimate and in june I blue screened for the first time. In the event log it just says kernal power critical error 41 63 and I really couldn't find any solutions too it. Since June I usually blue screened about once a week, but in the last week its up to about 15 times. The blue screens were originally happening during gaming but now its just at any time, even idling. I reinstalled my OS today, Have ran a fix on my hard drive with no found errors, and have tested my memory with no success. For a while i was unable to boot my pc at all, it would start up than shut down, than I was able to start it with 1 ram stick in, and tested it with no errors. I than tried to start the pc with the other ram stack in, and it would only stay on for 5 seconds again. Now, it doesn't matter what ram stick I have in, or even both and I have no signal to my monitor. I have tried reattaching every wire with no success and can't go back to trouble shooting my original problem until I get a signal to my monitor. Is it possible I shorted my motherboard when playing around with the ram, or is the ram just bad. Also I want to note that when i was trying to fix the blue screen problem, I updated my bios with a program called live update 5 which I later heard can cause serious damage to your pc. But how do i fix my bios without a signal to my monitor? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!
And this Problem Never happen when using Windows 7 32 bit ?Sounds like a conflict somewhere.. Reinstall Windows 7- 32bit to see what happens, If it still does it, then I would say your Motherboard is going bad.. If the 32 bit fixes your Problem, Then try another 64 bit setup disk, yours might be bad..Next You are going to have to Fix your Bio's first before anything...This could be your whole problem..
Ok so my brother brought over his old rig today and we started trouble shooting. My Ram in his pc : works His Ram in my pc : Does not work. My video card in his pc : Works His video card in my pc: Does not work. My power supply to his pc : Works Reset the bios by removing battery : Nothing. Swapped cables going to monitor : nothing. So my conclusion is that the motherboard is just fried. I read a lot of reviews from newegg where I bought it and several people complained that theirs stopped working after around a year as well. I am going to order a new Asus Mobo and see if I can finally get a picture. After that there is STILL the blue screen fix I have to make, i'm just hoping that the motherboard replacement kills two birds with one stone, otherwise I will test different Ram with the new board. As for the operating system. The one im currently running and blue screened on is the 3rd copy i've used. So it would be a hell of a coincidence that BOTH 64 bit versions we're shot.
