Having trouble with start up on this laptop. When starting it goes blank and makes 3 beeps. After reading a little I can see this is bad but I have a lot of work saved on this laptop which is very much needed and not replaceable. I have taken out the hard drive and plugged it in to another computer which resulted in the same problem. Is there a way in which I can fix this without losing anything or just getting the files I need off the hard drive? Any help would be grateful. Thanks
This can be a number of things, Bad Memory chip, or hard drive might be failing..To get the files /photos/programs off it you are going o have to Piggy back it from a desktop. Once you have it setup to piggy back, then you should be able to burn all your files to either CD or DVD.. Are you coming up with Any Hard drive errors ? Check your ram, and re seat the sticks...
