Hi everyone, I'm having trouble with my laptop, it's an ASUS X751L.
Yesterday the USB ports and WiFi stopped working within a couple hours of each other. When I plug in a USB device the laptop makes an audible sound, but nothing happens after that.
The HDMI port on the same side works. I'm not sure about the VGA or LAN ports.
It has Windows 10 installed on it. I haven't had any other issues with it since installing it.
I'd appreciate any help you can give.

And when did you upgrade? Do you have a recovery disk for windows 8.1 ? Windows 10 Upgrade has allot of problems, If you want to run Windows 10, then it should be a fresh install and not an upgrade..
Windows 10 looks nice, but I don't recommend it just yet..It is not stable yet..

    Hi Ghostman,
I upgraded the day it came out through a direct download.
No I didn't make a recovery disk and no I didn't do a clean install, naughty me.
Fortunately, with an upgrade, it's easy enough to do a recovery to Windows 8.1,
but I'd like to know Windows 10 is the problem before going through the trouble.

Well, was it doing this in Windows 8.1 ? Windows 10 upgrade might have a hard time finding all the right drivers for different make and models of Computers since it is New..

It was working fine for nearly 2 weeks.
So the USB ports just stopped working but the wifi was still working for a couple hours after before it gave up as well.
I'm wondering is it a hardware problem.

Ok, If you want to Keep/ Run Windows 10, Then you can try this.. Go to ASUS website and Download the Drivers for the USB and your Wifi, You will have to use Probably Windows 8.1 drivers, Then see if that will work for you..
If not then Downgrade back to Windows 8.1.. I have been using Windows 10 for over 5 Months, There is allot of BUGS in it, Not ready for everyday use in my opinion.. Plus has allot of built in spyware...

I heard about the telemetry recording and something about it using up spare bandwidth, but I haven't really had time to look into it much.
The first official product was released July 29, I think the Insider Preview is well behind when it comes to bug fixes.

As for downloading the drivers. I have no LAN connection and now no WiFi or USB.
I could take out the hard-drive and load the drivers onto it, but same as reverting to Windows 8.1,
I want to avoid the hassle unless I know it will fix the problem.

You just Download the drivers you need to another computer, then use a Flash drive or burn the drivers to cd, then install them..

    Ghostman,
The drivers did no good, so I reverted to 8.1.
It only took 20 mins in the end, no hassle.
    Thanks for the help.
