Hi i recently bough an nvidia 6800gt and it is having a problem running some games , it gives me the screen of what some people call "the blue screen of death" and then shuts the computer down, I have installed new drivers / gone back to old drivers several times , and i have the latest directx 9.0c - i also noticed that in dxdiag when i do the directdraw tests they are fine up untill the full screen test which is giving me the exact same screen as my games. system specs amd 64 3400+ 1024mb ddr ram nvidia 6800gt (256mb)
What else do you have? Like the motherboard, power supply (brand and wattage), etc? What does the BSOD say? If you can't see the message before it shuts down, do the following: Right click 'My Computer' --> Properties. Go to the Advanced tab--->Startup and Recovery. Settings. Make sure that the option to 'Automatically Restart' is unchecked and then hit OK.
i dont know the exact but its:- your computer has been shut down to prevent futher damage to your computer if you have installed any hardware please remove this and try again.................................................................

i think its a memory issue i just closed off all applications and it works , i only had basic programs running zonelabs firewall&antivirus incredimail email client , mirc , and msn messenger - i fink its zonealarm but i will close apps 1 by and find out

In that case, I think it'd be very beneficial for you to just buy or build a decent router. Software firewalls eat resources, cause hickups and instability, and are ultimately only as secure as the OS platform they're running on. If you run Windows, that means not very secure at all.
