Ninja, where are you mate? i seem to have lost you in the distance.. My AMD64 just kicked in with finishing its first WU (400 Frame) in 31 Hours a nice 270 Points (over a period of about a week when i have decided to actually run it) Oh.. and i've also found out why i can't OC to much (LTD Multi is on x5 - need it lower), wait till i order my Zalman silent cooling kit, and run my pc 24/7 hehe @ OC rates w00p! (not that im taking this at all competatively )
Well I've currently got F@H running on about 4 slow machines and my Athlon64 now, i realise its not a huge amount but none the less. I'm going to see if i can stick F@H on a Dual 1GHZ P3 and a Dual 600Mhz at work, however its ultimately upto my boss, and he's abit backwards about these things. I'm sure he would let me as long as i set it to "low" setting so it only uses CPU its not using. Or what we could do is gang together as a new user, the 8 most powerful pc's on forum as a new user called: "Z365VSBIGB" and beat him LOL I think its going to be v.hard to beat him as he has such a good head start. *Edit, i've OC'd my 3200+ and F@H has been on for 4 hours solid, im on a new WU and its at 45% after 3 1/2 Hours (obviously a smaller one - 25 Million Steps)
I leave my pc on all the time, although F@H is generally only running when its conveniant. Which is when im at work really. I've been trying to mod my pc so it's as quiet as possible, my current aim is to get it to the point that i can sleep with it on, and for it to replace my server and set my current server as an automatic network backup and central anti-virus update. some point over the next few weeks im going to order a Zalman 7000CLU Silent 120MM HSF and 2 x Silent 80mm Zalman case fans, so i can run my pc relatively silent all the time. My pc is bearable at the moment and its running at about 37DB :/ I've ordered some Akasa rounded IDE and Floppy cables to max airflow as well.
my cpu fan is 45.6DB alone! then I have 4vantec stealth fans, and 2 case fans with an arctic cooling VGA cooler. I can sleep with it on though the case I have does a pretty good and noise cancellation, you can hear it in the next room when you have the side and top panels off, but not with them on
Im a silent freak it has to be as quiet as possible, i'm very picky bout that type of thing.. and neat..
If i can finally start to get my good PC working then i should be able to take NF with 2 machines running.
What are the specs of them then? I have now taken F@H off all the work machines as i am leaving next week I just have it running on: 2x PIII 450Mhz AMD Duron 1.8GHZ My AMD64 As the machines i was using at work are so slow its pointless really running them.. and i had one machine running it at home (a celeron) but its my sisters and its never on except one day of week when she gets home so.. no point.. :good:
My good one is in my computer button and the one i'm folding on right now is a Duron 800mhz which can go upto 880mhz stable but I don't really want to mess this one up since my mumu and dad and brother need it working.
