    Have just completed a new pc. Asus K8V, AMD64 3200+, 1Gb RAM.
2 IDE drives and 2 IDE SATA drives.
Loaded XP Pro OK and loading drivers/utilities from Asus disc when things froze up with Start button flickering, Recycle bin flickering.
Click on start and menu fleetingly appears. Right clicking produces continous beeps but can get into explorer but cannot do any thing there.
This occured about the time loading the "Cool& Quiet"/ SATA drivers software.
When in explorer every folder I highlight flickers as does the address line.
I can get the ASUS driver disc on screen from the CD but any text is unreadable as it scrolls itself.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Download the latest drivers for your video card and post back with any results as the driver disc may have outdated drivers.

Thanks reply, but did not get as far as that when loading drivers and cannot now do so.
The card is an ASUS 9600XT with 128Mb. I set the graphics aperture size at 128Mb in the BIOS.
Would that have been correct, or should I have left it at default 64Mb?

set to 128, if you have problems set to 64...but you shouldn't have problems

For best performance its best to set it to 1/4 or 1/2 of total system RAM. I usually leave it at 1/4.
