My packard bell optical mouse just suddenly stopped working. The arrow is there still but wont move. Mouse is plugged into ps2 port but when i unplugged it a pop up came up saying its unplugged. It works if i remove the ps2 adapter and put it into USB. Ive tried using diffrent ps2 adapters and still wont work. I only have 2 usb ports so i need one to be free for my ipod etc so any suggestions as to why its not working when in the ps2 port?

Either your PS2 ports stopped working or your USB-PS2 adapter's dodgy. Try it on another PC.

I tried switching the keybord ps2 into the one where the mouse was b4 and the mouse into the keybord one but none of them worked lol. Pain in the ass cos thers two more usb ports on the front of my tower but even though ther connected they just dont get anything and i dont have the know-how to sort it out. So irratating as i have to pull tower out and find the usb to put the ipod into when i need to update it.

Try getting a USB extension and then use a hub with it.

Or you can buy a USB PCI card, not too expensive and it provides you with an additional 4 working USB slots externally as well as a 5th internal slot.

USB hubs can be expensive. For the USB PCI card try Maplin, I think they're about £15 there.
