I'm thinking of investing in a new mobo, CPU and mem (and case etc but that's irrelevent!). But I haven't built a system from scratch (only rebuilt my current system into a new case) before so I need to ask what may seem like a silly question! I still want to keep my HDD and fit it into the new system but would I need to reinstall Windows all over again?
If this isn't so and I did want to get a new HDD, would I be able to duplicate everything from my current HDD to a new one with more storage?
And another little thing! Which would be more wise to invest in ... an Athlon 64 socket 939 or socket 754 mobo and CPU? What are the main differences?

You can do a system repair on windows and that usually patches it up and will work. Get a socket 939 motherboard, other socket is already dead. Socket 939 will be only living socket.
