Hi.I am planning to buy either of these LCD monitors ! One from BenQ or from Sony. BenQ: Cost of this is Indian Ruppees 26,250 (USD 583 apprx) http://211.20.183.102/www/front/Ben...ct.asp&Dataid=12911&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined Sony: Cost is Rs 29,990 (USD 660 apprx) http://www.sonyindia.co.in/sonyindia/products/DisplayProduct.jsp?modelNumber=SDM-X73 There is a model from Sony which has 3Wx2 Stereo speakers but I am thinking 1Wx2 itself is enough. Please see here http://www.sonyindia.co.in/static/lcd/default.htm Both my above said models of BenQ and Sony have speakers. So I am confused with which one to go. Which is better? Or I have seen 2 Samsung ones, http://www.samsung.com/in/products/monitors/tftlcdmonitors/710n.asp and http://www.samsung.com/in/products/monitors/tftlcdmonitors/syncmaster173p.asp If both BenQ or Sony is bad maybe any of Samsung ones is good? Please help me. Thanks.
Anything from all three companies should be a good product. Sony's you tend to pay a bit more for the name, so the Benq is probably a better value. As far as the Samsung's, they have added a no dead pixel policy on all their monitors which is nice. I'm an authorized reseller for all three companies and have tried out LCD's from all of them which are all outstanding but I'd probably go with a Benq or Samsung for price/performance ratio.
gopikrish, please fix the links, it looks as if you have copy and pasted the thread. I'd go with a Samsung LCD as the offer no dead pixel policy.
I'd personally go for the BenQ or the Samsung 710n, both are excellent monitors for sure. The price is similar too, but the Samsung offers slightly better specs as the contrast ratio is higher (600 compared to the BenQ's 500), as well as a really thin bezel. I wouldn't go with the Samsung 173p myself as the response time is a lot slower (25ms compared to the BenQ's and 710n's 12ms). If you play games you'll really notice the difference. The sony is nice but shouldn't be superior to the others, at least not for it to be worth the extra money. Well whatever monitor you pick I hope it works out for you.
If I see movies and also TV I will be watching using TV Tuner card. So it will be good right? I mean using that FP 783 BenQ. Please I am in urgent. Thanks.
Ok in Sony if SDM-HX73 better than SDM-X73? I have posted SDM-HX73 link below and SDM-X73 I have already posted above. Please see and suggest please. http://www.sonyindia.co.in/sonyindia/products/DisplayProduct.jsp?modelNumber=SDM-HX73
Yes, I can see no reason why the BenQ wouldn't work well with a TV tuner, everything should look great on the monitor. The Sony SDM-HX73 is slightly better than the SDM-X73. The HX73 is brighter (400cd/m2, compared to the X73's 300cd/m2) and the viewing angle is a little better. Both are great monitors but if you want the better of the two go with the HX73 as it doesn't cost that much more.
Samsung all the way. I'm not a TFT fan, but Samsung is the only name in the industry who truly stands behind their product if you ask me. Now, if they would only warranty against "yellowing" of TFTs, I might buy one myself!
Hello dear, Using an lcd as a tv and monitor is totally different. When u use as a pc monitor,it should have a very long screen life.Benq is good as a tv because,it has a verygood edge smoothening technique which help u to watch dish tvs well.If u use samsung,it is good for monitor(the king) but tv viewing sucks due to its extreme sharpness.Sony is middle of both. Extreme sharpness is good for -- monitor, dvd viewing Smoothness of edges good for -- t.v(dish tv,cable tv,normal dish) etc sony is a middleman. Only monitor -- buy samsung Only t.v -- buy benq.Both- buy sony. Longlife --- the king is sony.Benq-- no proper indian warranty. The clarity of viewing in benq is much more than others while watching dish.
