1 month of uptime isn't really all that long. If it wasn't for driver updates and patches I have only had 7 crashes since beta 1 of Whistler. 3 of those crashes came from bugs in early beta versions and the other 4 have come since XP went final with 2 being caused by edonkey, 1 being caused by testing an ATi card and having the drivers hose my system and the other 2 have come from SB drivers.

My current uptime is 17 days, 2 hours and 13 minutes, with the last reboot having come from installing a security patch.

I think my file server was up for a few months before being updated to XP Service Pack 1. The other day, we had a power outage, but as far as crashing, can't say that's been happening:chk:

    few mounths damn
but I game alot and install many programs and I do shutdown windows sometimes so I guess if i only had a ftp server or something like that that was 24/7 online I would get a higher uptime
    but who cares ?

RZA what programs and hardware are you running?

I'm kind of curious as to why your uptime level would be so low.

for hardware check my sig and I got a wintv stereo card
and well for programs thats would be a long list(I just checked and there were 120 folders in my program files folder) but if u mean the onces that r running in backround here they r:
    winamp agent
    Norton AV and Personal firewall
Itouch from logitech for my keyboard/mouse
    download accerlator plus
    MSN
I think thats it for all systray apps

But its not like windows crashes so much its more like I hafta restart cuze of programs that I installed or updates(these days i almost get each 3 days 1 update from automatic updates)
But if i reinstall windows it would be more stable i think
I got this windows running for almost 1 year now I think(any1 know how to check that ?)

1 year is pretty good. Up until recently, I've always screwed around with my computers, and managed to get something screwed up and decided I need to reinstall. I can't think of any time since I started running Win2k or XP that I really ended up needing to do a reinstall.
Oh well, good practice I guess.

yep I never had to reinstall win 2k/xp I think when i had win me(and I used to think it was a good os loool) it wouldnt run for a half year if I didnt reinstall
From what I know my win 2k runs the same as it runned when I installed it and that rullez

What I dont get when win 2k was out why they didnt advertise it as the new win 9* cuze I can play any game with it(I dont play old games...) and its almost the same as xp wich is the new win 9* and hell its 100 times better then win me wich was supposed to be the new win 9*(when win me was out) while it was alot worser then win 98 se

My idea is that 2k was a.)based on the NT core; and, b.)geared toward business.
MS also probably had XP in the works at the time too, and knew the direction they were going.
I'm with you on ME sucking. It was actually worse than 98. Only thing that was promised and came true was the faster boot time...:crash:

Originally 2k was going to be the OS that killed off the 9x line, however if I remember right they couldn't get the compatibility up to standards by launch time so along came the rush job of ME to help monetize the 9x market until XP (Whistler) came along and they were finally able to move people off the 9x platform.
