Monitor trouble

    I just finished building my new computer from parts i bought from newegg. When i booted it up everything worked but the monitor stayed blank. Whats wrong?

    Could be RAM, CPU, Motherboard, Video Card, Power supply. Any beeps/bloops/blips?
    Also, can you swap out video cards, ram, cpu's to troubleshoot bad hardware?

    Try booting with bare essentials: power supply, 1stick of ram, motherboard, CPU, Videocard, no hard drive, no cd rom drive, no PCI devices.

    Also, not to imply that you're dumb, but, make sure everything is seated properly.
