Hardrive Problem

    I have a 250 gb Hardrive but it doesnt seem to be reading this since i formatted my Hardrive. When i have reformatted it says 127 gb size but i should have 250!?. Does anyone know why its not reading the full 250 gb on the hardrive and why is it doing this

    I have Windows XP Home Edition. I do have SP2 all ready install :rolleyes: Its still at 127 GB and not changed Any other solutions?

    go to start > run type in "compmgmt.msc"

    then go to disk management

    you should see the unused space, all you need to do is format it.

    Ok cheers i can see the unused space now. Does it have to be 2 different partitions? Or can you add the space on to your partition?

    I would use two different partitions! use the second on store programs or important files, so if you had to do a clean install you would still have all the files etc

    If you want to join the two partitions it is possible, but you will have use thirdparty software, like [google]partition magic[/google].
