I have a 250 gb Hardrive but it doesnt seem to be reading this since i formatted my Hardrive. When i have reformatted it says 127 gb size but i should have 250!?. Does anyone know why its not reading the full 250 gb on the hardrive and why is it doing this Thanx for anyhelp Speed.
I assume you have win xp home or pro? any way have a read here http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;303013 I'd update to the latest service pack which is SP2, so go to the windows update site. This will allow you to get the rest of the space back.
I have Windows XP Home Edition. I do have SP2 all ready install Its still at 127 GB and not changed Any other solutions?
go to start > run type in "compmgmt.msc" then go to disk management you should see the unused space, all you need to do is format it.
Ok cheers i can see the unused space now. Does it have to be 2 different partitions? Or can you add the space on to your partition? Speed
I would use two different partitions! use the second on store programs or important files, so if you had to do a clean install you would still have all the files etc If you want to join the two partitions it is possible, but you will have use thirdparty software, like [google]partition magic[/google].
