Hey, i searched google for "yellow status light computers" and this thread came up.. haha.. My luck. Anyways, im not a computer n00b, but im no guru either. My parents have an HP 735n, and my problem is exactly what the guy who made this thread was having.. If i press power.. The button has green LED shine thru it (on), but the status light below that goes yellow. I get no video WHAT-SO-EVER, i've tried a video card, and 3 monitors... Any help is appreciated. Candy
hey Candyman you say you have tried a vide card, do you mean you have tried other video cards? if not try a different one, make sure its inserted correctly, sometimes they require slight force. when did this start to happen?
Well.. they have onboard video.. And i have my A+, lol.. Im sure I inserted the card just fine.. Well my mom said this... Her b/f was on the computer tues. night. When he went to sleep he turned the MONITOR off.... And when my mom woek up, she went on and turned the monitor back on... And all she could see was a "right-click menu" and when she tried to move the mouse around she got no cursor..... She tried rebooting, and no display what-so-ever.. I've tred 3 monitors, two different Power supplies, even removed and tried diff. CMOS chips (i said hell, mine as well), i have tried diff. sticks of RAM, even another HD. Thx for the reply, hopefully yall can help. (my parents are trying to kill me to fix this. haha) Candy
Thread split. For best results, it's best to start your own thread than hijack someone elses. kthxbye
The onboard video may have gone kaput, and you're only solution at this point would be to grab a video card to drop in. Find some cheap PCI (not PCIe) to drop in and go from there. You may have to disable the on-board video as well, but the motherboard may disable it if it detects a video card in it.
I already said i use a video card, AGP. And it works because iI tested it in my computer you too... Still the same... No display at all. Candy
