This quite the problem here for myself so lets see...

First...my geforce ti4200 card was making this awful noise which I found out was the fan on it. So I took out the card and a few days later I bought a new fan and fixed it up/installed it again. While the card was out though I decided to try and put my old voodoo 3 card into the computer. When the card was in...the computer would not start up so I just took out the card and left it alone. Now with the geforce back in the computer will run fine except for when I install the drivers to the graphics card. When the drivers are installed (new, old and beta ones were tried) the computer will finish the loading screen of windows xp but then it will go into a black screen and the power of my monitor will go off. A few seconds after and my computer restarts on its own.

Anyone have any idea's? Do I need to get a new motherboard/graphics card? Or can this be fixed someway?

Unfortunately I have a very similar problem with mine and I can't seem to fix it. Its trange that this has happened with the same card as nothing's really changed.

I'm just curious, what are the specs of the computer? It might be something totally different.
