What are the specs of these systems and what have you tried to fix them.

The amd is a 2500 barton a7n8x mb that I changed out to a mach speed mb, tried changing out the video card in that one nvida), 1 g of memory. Not sure about everything as it's been awhile since I built them. The amd I have tried unplugging everything but the mb and cpu, and still get nothing.

The pentium is a 4, 1g rambus, nvidia, buncha hard drives and has run for a couple of years. I haven't tried anything on this one but a boot disk (nothing), just turned it on, hard drive light comes on and nothing....no post, no nothing, zippo, nada!!

broken hearted for surely....and they crashed in different towns, so I don't think it's power here or the isp!?

    thanks

Alright, you're on the right path. I'd test what components you can in another known working system if possible. Clear CMOS...if you can't find the jumper, pull out the battery for a minute with the power supply unplugged; replace and boot again.

If the fans are just spinning, but the system won't POST, I'd look at the power supply as being the culprit...especially if the motherboard isn't even giving you any beeps.
