Well unfortunantly there is no need, as of yet anyway, to rush out and preorder your 64-bit edition of XP pro if you expect amazing proformance boosts in your games. The tests show that there is no benifit and sometimes even a notable loss in frame rates when playing modern games under XP x64. Though very few games are designed to be run under this OS and therefore aren't optimized for it there is still no shaking the fact that gaming is meant to be done on the traditional XP, for right now at least. Keep this in mind if you intended to order x64 to boost you gaming performance with your shiney new 64-bit proc.

I see... So if i set my system up to be 64 bit capable & compatable, think that the 64 bit support would arrive anytime soon?

The soonest we'll really see it is with Vista, and that won't happen untill early 2007 at the soonest. XP64 isn't really worth the invenstment, it's not really utilized by software. Vista has the support for 64-bit processor and dual core and developers should start to really use this advantage by the time it ships.
