Sorry for not folding guys, but since I've been having problems with my PC i've stopped folding. I found the bad component and it was a faulty RAM stick, so I'm only on 128mb with windows and tis slow. Once I get a 256mb stick then I'll start folding.
I'd fold with my good PC but i can't get it to work with entworks, some kind of DHCP problem.

Ouch, that must suck, sorry about that Addis, hope you can get a new stick soon. I've got 512MB's and still have problems when a lot's running.

You can't beat me, we're on the same side! :) Remember, I'm folding for the team, not against it. A few workhorse AMD servers have been cranking out about 75% of my WUs, the rest being provided by fairly powerful workstations part-time. I hope to add about a dozen more AMD workstations to the team, but I haven't had the time for that yet.

Nice AT. At least we have someone folding with uber results at the mo. Not like I'm gonna make much difference when i start again.

added, 2500+ barton, 512mb ram, to the folding. Though it's on a seperate user so I don't know how much folding it will do. does the folding service run constantly or does it stop when you log off and log onto a different user?

If you're running it as a service, it runs independant of the user account. If the system is up, F@H is up.

Hehe, that's a good idea, just buy a really crappy gfx card, and really outdated components except for the processor, mobo, and ram assuming that's important too. You could get away with spending like $500 for a nice folding machine. Though I don't think many of use would go for that somehow.

Folding@home is a medical project using the unused CPU cycles of PCs to solve complex simulational problems. When you download the folding at home cient (fodling.stanford.edi) and run it your computer's free CPU cycles (when its idle) is used to work on a specific simulation. When you finish a work unit (WU) folding will send the results of the simulation via the internet and download a new work packet to do.
As an incentive, you can specify a username and folding team. The faster you do work units the more points you get. Our folding@home team is called Zone365 (id number 38417).

If you decide to help out with medical research downlaod the client from fodling.stanford.edu. You can choose the easy to configure graphical or the console version which does WUs slightly faster. If you decide to fold make sure you join our folding team by using 38417 as your folding team id.

the more points you have, does it like mean you have a fast machine, eg the person with the most points out of everyone in this folding thing, does this mean that he has the fastest machine out of everyones?
