Had this thing for 3 months, I think it over heated and died, been having probs the past week with the PC crashing and wierd sounds coming from the card. So now finally the screen just says "out of range", does nothing else. So, I swapped my 9800 out with my old nvidia geforce4mx, and now i am sad :( My games suck!!!! The players on mvpbaseball05 look like crack heads!! Anyway back to why im here.... i have been planning on building a system, but not this quickly. I need some kind of cheapo vid card that can get me back to my players looking normal. Dont need anything for doom or half life, just my mvpbaseball. Nothin over 50-60 bucks too. Any suggestions? Btw, anyone know if i can get ATI to fix or replace my 9800 pro? Thanks!

To be honest I think you'd be better served by just saving your money and getting a nice new card, it's more economical and you'll appreciate it when you actually want to play a new game. I don't believe that ATI actually offers a fix-it plan though I could be wrong. I know they have a trade in service but I doubt that will work for dead cards. Well if you really do want to go through with it you can always get yourself a9600 , in that general price range this is about as good as you'll find.

if it's under warranty ATI migh have a word or two about it.

I would just get a 9600, or a 9600XT. I have one and it plays every game nicely:)

Not really. I had a 9600XT for a year, and while, yes, it's going to be warm during heavy use, it's not hot.

I have a 9600xt ultra(faster ram modules) with an arctic cooling cooler. The thing is silent and overclocked to 540/720 under heaving gaming it is slightly warm.
