Can anyone help me with setting some of the advanced settings in my BIOS, almost all are on "Auto" setting but I should be able to get better performance when adjusting some of them shouldn't I?

I want some settings for the following hardware:

    - ASUS A8V Deluxe
    - XFX 6800GT 256GT (Has aftermarket cooler)
    - 2 x 512 MB PC3200 DDR Twinmos
    - AMD Athlon 64 4000+ "San Diego" (Standard cooler)

My BIOS version is 1012.002, there are newer beta drivers but I don't know if I should install these or not. I haven't heard any pros or cons about that version.

for memory I used to have two older 256MB PC2700 DDR installed in the black slots on my mainboard but I threw them out, thinking that they slowed the newer installed memory down.

The cpu multiplier should be at 12 and the fsb at 200, as well as the ram.

Disable everything that you're not using, like ports and ide channels and/or sata channels, etc

    The rest should be fine.

You can try cutting your memory latencies a bit but theres not much else.

Well you can always OC, but thats a whole other post for a whole other section. Other than OC'ing theres not much else you can do... I about just said raise the RAM speed but that is OC'ing, so I won't go into that.
