Since it seems we're ritarded in english haha, i thought making a club would be a fun thing to do, since most of us, are stuck with reading 5th grader stories, and other VERY exciting things haha

Hey sign me up and put a badge on my chest, I got a C at somepoint too, damn Shakespeare (Taming of the Shrew *gag*). English was one of the worst classes I ever took. Our teacher told us "amusing" stories about her daughter any chance she got, she tried to relate the lesson plan to her daughter, compaired things to her daughter, "you see this sentence structure reminds me of my daughter because..." We also had to keep a journal and respond to proverbs she put on the board, "okay class now get our you 'handy dandy' journals and respond to the proverb on the board: A kicking man has but one leg to stand on." We were also graded on participation, through what she felt we deserved and what we marked out selves for under our self evalutation form every friday. And to top all that off the lesson plan sucked, aside from the daily journal/proverb crap we started off with short stories, went into poety, worked on writing, hit into drama terms, read some crappy plays, read Shakespeare that didn't make one ounce of sence and that's where we left off. And to top it all off she was a nice teacher because she set little rewards for us that we had to achieve by responding to our provebs silently every day. She knew we couldn't shut up that long so she purposly made the goal unreachable by requiring 10 consecutive silent proverb sessions.
Well that's my long story, anyone else want to share their english experience with us?

I got a B in English Language and a D in English Literature. I hate analysing books, as a writer I believe that what someone writes is what they mean. There are no 'between the lines' or 'other meanings' in a book, just what is there on the paper. With that attitude I'm surprised I got as high as a D in Lit.

I got CC, which is quite good, tried English Language at AS level, but didn't like it! I can't say it was hard but you had to analyse loads of stuff. The only fun we has was when we had to talk about taboo language.

Argh, yeah, I hate analyzing poetry and stories too, especially poetry as I don't understand it in the first place and then have to "look deeper" and find the "authors true message"

Its ok for me when I've got time to do it. If I have plenty of it then I can be good, thats why I've got As in coursework, but a C in an exam.

My specialist at school (apart from computers) was History and Maths. Got an A in each of them and I'm proud of that.

I got an A in Language and C in Lit at GCSE. I've taken AS English language and Literature this year so I'll get results in August. Fingers crossed I won't have to retake it. English exams just seem common sense to me. We were supposed to read Wuthering Heights three times for one forty minute question...I don't think so. I read the first chapter in class then couldn't be bothered anymore. Night before exam found a summary of the story and the exam gives you the extract so I just try and blag my way through. This might explain why my language is a bit stronger than the lit :)

Yeah I can see what you did there Matt, believe me I've tried that and ending up with a little talk the next evening with my parents:(
I'm probably the best at Phys. Ed., only because the grade is based on participation, so long as you move and try, and change your clothes your all set, the teacher is one cool dude though:2cool4u: Biology is also fairly easy for me, most of the chapters at least, bad chapters were like B-/C+ and good chapter were like A or so. I suck majorly at math and therefore don't like it, I squeeked by in Algebra 2 this year with a low C at best. English, depending on the unit is like a low A, but C's happen, usually tests and quizzes on deep short stories kill me. I haven't taken any computer courses other than computer concepts (typing:confused:) so I don't know about those yet. Heath was super easy A+, Art was good last year but sucked majorly this year as it wore on so I went from a mid B, to a high C, to a low C basically. Sociology was a 12th grade class that I took in tandum with Geography (high B) so I could avoid taking world history, hard class, I had a B at one point but usually it was a mid C and started out with two 58's, ugh.

I.T. = Information Technology, better known as computers.

I.T. was the only subject where I actually knew MORE about computers than any of the teachers. Of course they always denied it with things like "I was just testing you" or "I meant for that to happen"

Damned teachers not being able to admit even they can be wrong. *sighs, shrugs and rolls eyes*
