I found a 6600 GT and a 6800 LE for about the same price. I was going to order the 6800, but then I noticed it said LE. Is this better or worse than the regular 6800 (or is this the regular), and if so, which should I buy?
I just found a 6800 that after rebate is the same price, so now the question is, 6600 GT, 6800 LE, or 6800? Thanks a lot.
Do not get the LE. Some have told me LE means "low end" I have a 5700 LE and its performance differs greatly with the normal 5700. If your on a tight budget get the 6600GT but make sure yiy get the rare 256 version. Thats what i am aiming for.
The 6800 LE is slightly faster than the 6600GT in most tests, due to it's 256-bit memory interface as opposed to the 128-bit interface of the 6600GT. Go with the 6800 (non LE) because it's faster than both of the others by a good margin.
yeah but hes on a budget, idk the prices but if theres more than a 20$ difference from a 6800LE to a 6600GT then get the GT but otherwise get the 6800 if it is slightly faster HF people:question from me: can you unlock the vertex shader and pipelines on a 6800LE? that answer should also support your situation outcome
Yes, if your lucky you can get 12 pipelines and up to 6 vertex shaders. Go with EVGA if you want that as sometimes their models come with DDR3 ram up to 256 but don't count on it. I would never buy a card hoping to get a soft mod out of it as there's no guarentee, sometimes they onlock with Riva Tuner, sometimes they don't.
