Here's my problem: The monitor/computer won't turn on (it's plugged in ) Specs: ASRock K7S8XE+ AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Kingston 512 MB RAM x2 I forget the model/manufacturer of the Grafix Card What I tried: I tried several other grafix cards (both AGP and PCI) I've used my monitor on another computer (it worked) I've tried taking out and putting back the RAM I've tried taking out and putting back the battery on the motherboard I've tried resetting the CMOS with the jumper My computer is set up to accept remote desktop sessions, I've tried to login with Remote Desktop from another computer and it didn't connect... So I'm thinking maybe its my motherboard...? Any help would be appreciated! ThanX.lataz
try setting the computer on a non-conductive surface, and trying to start it up from that. Also what power supply are you using?
if you can test the parts, CPU, RAM, graphics card, in another system and verify they work then either your motherboard is bad or your power supply isn't powerful enough. after testing parts, could you try a friend's power supply or something in your system for troubleshooting?
Yeah I'm guessing its the power supply too, the new video card may be srawing too much power from it, not leaving enough for other things. wow, theres alot of PSU problems lately
ThanX. I tried another power supply, couldn't get it to go. I'm thinking it may be the motherboard... I dunno...
(Sighs) Here we go again! Read this! Answers on a postcard to the usual address. I'm going to have to turn that thread into a tutorial!
