I may be on a temporary hiatus for a few days. We've got water leaking in the kitchen from the apartment above. The water heater up there had a broken overflow valve and that kitchen is shot up there. The good news is that the apartment next door seems to be vacant, but we'll see. We're meeting with the apartment's people soon to discuss matters. This is not how I like starting my week, but this has gotta be done.
Okay, update: The room next door isn't all rosy, so we won't be moving in there. We will be getting a different apartment, but they can't move us in until Wednesday. Same complex, but a different building. They basically have to tear apart our kitchen and the kitchen in the one over us.
Oh, but it gets worse... Just when you thought it might get better, my roommate blew a gasket and told me that I'm out. Never mind that MY NAME is on the lease or that what he blew up over is the first thing that he's EVER said to me about messing up (I didn't help enough on Wednesday's move---even if that is true, kicking me out is hardly rational). I'm just mad as hell.
Wow that sucks, hope you can find a new pad soon. All else fails, back pack it here you can pitch a tent in the backyard
I'm back at my folks place, mainly because of the free rent (since I'll be getting my own place next year when I get married), so I do have internet access.
Wow, I really feel for you man. What your ex-roomie did was totally unfair and not justifiable. these are things beyond anyones control. But free rent is a perk Glad you'd got the ol' net at least.
The thing that bugs me is that he flat out lied to get me out. I'm pretty sure his new 'roommate' is is girlfriend and I think one of the workers at the apartment office let it slip by saying 'she'. That really hacks me off. I will be asking for my half of the deposit back. If I do not get it, I'll be going to small claims over it.
