I`m newbie to these things. pleases don't flame me.

I just bought a liteon dvd rom sohd-167t.the problem is it can`t read any DVD 9 movies. I had tried 3 differents dvd 9 movie but still the same. But it can play the single layer dvd movie. I had check with the neroinfo tool. It said can support dvd dual layer even the one who`s sellin me this dvd rom had tried at his own city, can play the dvd 9 without any problem, he said. Any ideas wad`s going on??

It said windows cannot read from this disk.the disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows. why??

    please help me. thank you.

The only conclusion i can come to is a problem with the drive itself, but you could try configuring the drive as a Master(assuming its a slave), or a Slave(assuming its a Master), catch my drift?

longshot but download a trial version of AnyDVD and start that before your dvd player and check back!
Have you tried the drive in a different computer?

its unlikely that it wont work in 2 different computers so i suggest taking it back and getting it replaced or trade it for a different drive!
