trying to forward a port for bearshare on my linksys WCG200-CC router supplied through the ever so reliable comcast.

I enter that, click apply. NOTHING. I click apply again, just like hitting one of those really handy dandy buttons on web pages that say 'to top' and it just goes right to the top of the page. Yep.

    anything I can do?

Make sure you have a static IP that matches your port forwarding rule. Also, update the firmware to the latest revision. You can test whether or not the port is really open with 'Shields UP' over at GRC.

I don't think they have another firmware, this is the Comcast version, which makes everything a bit more complicated. If I can't sort it out, I'll just call them and they'll send a tech newbie with a new router.

alright, since I've downloaded installed and fallen in love with opera the Apply button works correctly

at the top of the page
** STATUS: Changes Accepted (Port Forwarding Rule Set) **
appears, so all is well. Didn't work in IE or Firefox, but works in Opera. Hmm, weird.
