I just recently bought a Pioneer DVR-A09XLB and I have as yet been unable to burn anything with it. I've attempted 6 burns and every single one has failed. I've tried burning using Windows Media Player, Music Match Jukebox, Windows Explorer, and the bundled Ulead DVD Studio. Is my DVD burner junk? Or is there something I need to install that I somehow missed? I've already reformatted once so I don't think I have anything installed that might screw with the drive... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Shane Edit: I'm trying to burn CDR's and my DVD drive is the master drive...
1st you could try checking pioneers faq's 2nd you could try nero or other burning program and 3rd try different brand media! then check back
nice drive you've got there, I'd try a known working cable in it, or try setting your hard drive as master, and have your DvD drive as a slave. Not the easiest or best way, but it'll eliminate one variable.
Thanks guys, I checked over the Pioneer website pretty thoroughly as well as sending their tech guys an email but I haven't heard back yet. I tried to update the firmware from the Pioneer website but it failed and then the drive wouldn't work at all. I then switched the IDE cables with one I know for sure works and the firmware updated successfully. So at least I know its got a good cable. I tried with Nero which also had the problem, but I haven't tried with a different media yet...
