    is my motherboard faulty?

in demanding games my computer usualy shuts down, i have said about this load of times.

also in the bios i cant enable stuff like softpatch mode and hardly any of the optimizations work, as my computer shuts down more when i enable any of these, when i overclocked my processor i saved the settings, but instead of computer restarting, it just shut down, i overclocked pentium4 to 3.4ghz from 3.0ghz, computer shut down on windows boot up screen, seems to only get onto windows up to 3.2ghz.

and also, temperature readins, they semm faulty too.

so what do you all think, faulty motherboard?, everyhting else in my case has bieng replaced exept motherboard, if you think it is faulty, i would apreciate some recomendations on a new motherboard for my system, just not too expensive AND NOT AN INTEL 865PE MOTHERBOARD.

i prefer the motherboard to be quite cheap £60 max, compatible with my hardware and good, if not better than my dfi infinity 865pe (eg bios settings and overclocking options.)

Well based on all the information stated by you on your previous posts/threads i would say yes it is faulty!
    As for mobo's-
    ASUS P4C800 or
    ABIT IC7
i dont many others but could get these for less than 60 if you search and both are very stable and renowned!
GigaByte also make excellent boards as do MSI and ECS!

Wait a sec, let's back up here.

What have you done to determine that the temps are faulty? Have you flashed to a newer BIOS? It's not unheard of to have a BIOS with some features that are borked sometimes, especially with newer releases.

You'd better replace the PSU Unit first. I had a stable mobo, but decided to get a 550W PSU just to be sure I was getting enough juice into my system. Guess what? I experienced all your troubles too. Couldn't overclock the CPU, memory timings, nada. Switched back to the 400 W PSU, and everything was fine. :)

If i was you i would replace it instead of wondering if it faulty. And if you just got it then hopefully you have a warranty so you can just take it back and get another. And if you dont look at it as a chance to get a nicer to improve your pc. Sometimes your motherboard can only handle certain things like mine cant take any processor over 1.7 so maybe if you got any junk parts around try them in your computer or get some junk ones at a pawn shop or even if your rich you'll just get some new parts.

If you get some new parts a great place is
