If its a USB keyboard you need to get to BIOS with a PS2 keyboard and turn on USB Keyboard support > http://www.321imagehosting.com/files/Untitled-3.jpg
this should allow you to change your settings!

Does it stop working through boot and then starts again in windows or just stops completely?

My keyboard stops working completely, it's always the same amount of time, just 10 seconds after powering up the computer. I can just about access the BIOS settings before it stops working. I would need to hold the world record for typing in order to change any settings in the BIOS. I have tried other keyboards only to get the same result. The computer has also tried to access the hard drive while i'm trying to edit the BIOS.

What type of connection are you trying to use, USB or PS2?

 I'm using a PS2 keyboard. Do you think i may need a new BIOS chip?

Have you tried a different keyboard?

Yes, i've tried several keyboards only to get the same result! As i just threw the computer togeather i thought i would start again from scratch, but it made no difference. I turn my computer on and press delete to enter the BIOS settings, after about 10 seconds the keyboard just dies, i seem to be having problems with the monitor too, it will sometimes put itself on standbye. I then have to turn the computer off for about 20 minutes before i can get the monitor to work again.
