any cheap power supply won't cut it for that beastly system, you'll need to spend around $100 for a major name brand power supply. I'd get over 450watt power supply for it. Maxtor hard drives aren't very good, frequently dieing. I'd get a Western Digital or a Seagate.
ok, i've seen a Seagate 250Gb Barracuda 7200.8 SATA NCQ - ST325083AS for the same price, is that better? also can someone recomend a good PSU for it? im thinking a 500w....
Yup Seagate's better, also comes with a 5 year warranty. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103437 that's a damn good power supply
That'll be one helluva computer. I'm getting the same processor, great stuff. That's the same powersupply I'm getting for my friend too (last listed). The one ninja posted is pretty amazing, I've never seen so many amps on the 12v. I hate it how most companies never note whether they're PCIe and ATX 2.0 compliant so you have to look at the reviews and pics. Other than the psu it's checks out in my book. Though the components seem pretty pricey even for AUS funds.
Is that CPU price right ive seen it for $380 american and the MOBo for $180 american on Newegg .com also get a western digital hardrive, i ve heard alot of bad things about maxtor not lasting long. I have a WD Sata II 16 mb cache 250 gb for $120 of newegg or zipzoomfly.
nice work! i really like it! i will read some reviews when i get time but this goes really well with the case to, thanks heeps!
No worries, its easy to find aus stuff when you live there! Here is a review i found > http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=371
do you guys think im better going for a Thermatech Big Typoon Fan Instead of the CoolerMaster Ultra Vortex KCC-V91?
also what would be the best non-SLI motherboard for my pc for under $270 AUSD? i love playing games on it and am probly interested in overclocking...
If you'll be overclocking you'll need better ram, value series on any brand don't OC very well and will hold you back.
Yeah but they cost more, a lot more, maybe you dont always want blistering performance, seagate have good performance and are very reliable, sure everyone would like raptors but sometimes they just aren't right for the situation.
