My PC only has PCI slots and I'm having problems finding a good card for it any help? am I stuck with shitty GFX? All I could find is this, a Geforce FX5200 ttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814108129 and, a Radeon 9250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131411
That's about the only PCi cards you can get apart from the 9200SE and MX4000! PCI graphics provide less than adequate performance so yes you are stuck unless you upgrade to AGP or PCIe!
Whatever's cheaper, as they perform about the same. You might see if you can find a GeForce 5600 or 5700 in PCI format, and that will be better, but thats probably about the best you're going to have available to you without upgrading your motherboard.
The best you can do is a 5700LE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814139166 or 5500: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133134 If you can't afford those get a 5200 with a 128-bit interface (you'll see that in the specs).
But I wannna make sure it really fits before I buy, I dont wanna buy it then have to return. sorry I dont know as much as you guys I just wanna make sure cause this will be the first card I ever buy. I see that card has three parts in the connector and my mobo has two..?
if it says its PCI then it should fit, if it doesnt then they have mislabelled it, i think its just the way the lighting is in the photograph that makes it look slightly different
Don't worry it will certainly fit. Others have reviewed the same cards and are going on about it being perfect as they only have PCI slots. If you're having other problems with it for some reason you can always return it. Newegg is very good about that.
but I see two PCI cards and they are both diffrent?? one has two parts in the connector and the other one has 3?
Length is the only real important factor here, and both cards have the same length connector. Don't worry, it's a PCI card, it will fit
I knew i saw a 5700 in PCI somewhere before but i wasnt going to recommend it until i was sure i wasnt seeing things! Thanks for pointing that out EX.
No prob, too bad it's only the LE but it's still pretty sweet for PCI. Apparently it will play BF2, surprising.
