hi all I'am thinking to upgrade my system but not sure what to get for peformance? this is what i was thinking for my graphic card the XFX GEFORCE 7800GTX but not sure what motherboard, powersupply and ram to get with this card? First of all, you definetly wont be able to use your current motherboard with that card since the card is PCI express and your motherboard doesn't support that. If you're planning on keeping as much hardware as possible and just adding the video card then, depending on the PSU, you should just have to replace the motherboard. Lastly, what are the specs of the current PSU in your system?

While the Fortron is good, it may not be enough to run an SLI rig. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try, but you'd do well to budget for a new unit. The Tagan 480W unit is known to be a solid unit (the FSP ---Fortron--- is a very good company, but may not be made to handle what you're looking to run) as well as the Hiper 480-500W+ units... All new Intel-based motherboards use 240-pin DDR2 RAM. If you want to keep your 184-pin DDR, you'll have to not get SLI or go over to an AMD-based system. Or purchase new RAM. You will not find any Intel-based motherboard supporting DDR and SLI.
If I were you I'd stick with what you have and pop in a nice X800XT, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814142038 I don't think it's very economical to buy a whole new motherboard and video card that would be bottlenecked by the CPU anyway. This one performs very well and saves you the expensive of a pricey upgrade.
