Can't post in the news section so I'll post here if that's okay.
People in the U.K. with Gmail accounts will probably know this, if not then look at this page, Gmail can't be used because in the U.K someone else has the rights to that name, the rest of the world isn't affect I don't think, just us here in the U.K.
From 19th October 2005 (today) Gmail accounts will no longer be issued, they will be @googlemail.com instead. I heard about this on the radio in my local shop when I was there earlier, came home and immediately checked it out...

No apparent change to the service, it just seems to have it's name changed. Pity, I prefer the name of 'Gmail' over 'Google mail'

Damn I want to get a googlemail.com account using my current gmail name as I'm not sure what will happen to my account, and the name is already taken, I don't want another name, I like my current one...:swear:

Well at least current UK users don't have to have the name change, only new ones.

Yeah and I figured out that the name for a new account i was going to set up using @googmail.com can't be used, because the name is used as my @gmail.com account, so i signed in using my account name but with @googlemail.com on the end and got to my account...sweet!
