Processor and motherboard

    I have just bought a second hand pc which i am looking to upgrade but the motherboard looks really old and doesnt even have a slot for a graphics card. If i was to buy a new motherboard would this defintly work on my pc??? Also i only have a 500 mhz processor which i am also looking to upgrade could anyone plz tell me how to install the processor and motherboard???

    Take the heatsink and fan off the processor, then, you should be able to pull a little leaver, and the processor should then just slot out.


    when i first got into computers, i thought processors were welded to the motherboard :p

    how do i take out the motherboard????? will all motherboards work on all pcs????

    oh, the motherboard is just screwed in the case.
    there are micro atx cases, and atx cases, for micro atx cases, you need a micro atx motherboards, micro atx motherboards will fit in atx, and micro atx cases.

    i think judging by the age of your system, you may need a new case :\

    just be carefull when installing motherboards, use anti static protection just ot be on the safe side, anti static protection comes in the form of an anti static wrist band, just thought i would tell you that :)

    i think your computer will be tottaly incompatible with new hardware, you will proberbly need a new power supply, new hard drive, a total new rig.
