A few things. First of all, the only difference between an internal and external HDD is the external chassis; the HDD inside is the same exact type found in your average PC. Secondy, the brand of the HDD itself is much more important than the brand of the chassis it's mounted in.

For HDDs, I like Seagate and Western Digital. I recommend you avoid Maxtor and IBM HDDs. If you're feeling brave, you can actually buy the HDD and the external case seperately and build the thing yourself. If you were to do that, you could save a lot of money and ensure that you get exactly the HDD you're after.

    All the best,

if it's usb then on a windows xp system you should see it appear as an external storage device or something like that in 'My Computer' after you get swarmed with windows congradulating it's self by finding a new device.

    Hello Everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good portable harddrive device that I can link up my PSP to? What I want to do is load PSP games onto the HD so that I can change the game on the memory stick whenever I want without having to use my computer or laptop. To do this the device would have to have a menu screen where I can move files around from different folders. I do alot of traveling and I dont like carrying my bulky laptop around with me wherever I go so this harddrive device would be ideal. I was looking at the APACER CD211 where I can drop a 80gb hd into it. Anyone know anything about this device? Good and Bad remarks are welcome!
