i am really stuck its to do with the sims 2 if ant one knows about it please help me as my kids are v loud without it.

Start out by describing your operating system, computer hardware, version of the game, the symptoms you're having, and whether anything else has occured recently that might be related to the issue. umm i have a dell dimension 5000 i had the sims 2 on it it worked perfectly, then i installed the sims 2 university and that worked fine to. i downloaded things of the sims 2 website to add to the game and i think i downloaded one with a virus as it did not work after that, so i unistalled it and just played on the original sims 2 and it worked fine. i heve norton antivirus and i did a scan as i usually do and deleted the "at risk files" as usual. after that the internet would not work, so i reset the computer to the day before i did the scan, the net now works, but the computer still had on it the sims 2 university on that day so, i put the sims 2 university disk in and it said that it was not installed so i, went on the sims 2 original game but a message poped up saying i had a newer game installed (the sims 2 university) and so i though i will uninstall the sims to and then reload it back on. but when i went to uninstall the sims 2 it said i had to uninsatll the sims 2 university first. but i have looked all over the computer and it says that it is not loaded on. however the window still pops up syaing to install that one first. and now i do not have a clue what to do
Symptoms of Bigger Issues System restore is playing nasty tricks on you. Disable system restore, uninstall the Sims altogether, run an antivirus scan, and install Sims again from scratch. Of course, it sounds like you have much more serious issues than a broken game. When you connect to any web page, your web browser application tells that website a little bit about itself. This is normal behavior. However, when you connect to our page your particular web browser is actually proudly telling us that you have spyware. That's bad news! Spyware is usually not considered as critical as virii, but it is a serious issue nonetheless. Check out this thread for a recommended course of action. Also, you might get a second opinion on your antivirus results, as Norton isn't very good at actually catching & preventing the spread of virii. -AT
Symptoms of Bigger Issues thanx i shall try this, how should i sort out the virii problem, would u recomend a different virus protection program? shall i try to sort the problem myself or is it hard as i have a warenty thing with dell where they have to come out the next day to fix it.
Honestly, if I was you I would uninstall the Norton Suite and replace it with AVG Free, which is totally free for home use and requires no subscription fee. It also runs faster than Norton and is successful more often in the removal of virii. Also, definately look into an alternative browser. :ff: -AT
thanks for the advise it was vey helpfull unlike the people at dell they just said it wasnt there problem as it was to do with the software not the hardware. what do u mean a browser?? thanks

I do not run Windows, so forgive my if I call something by the wrong name. Proceed to download and install Firefox and/or Opera -- both are free web browsers which are superior to IE. When you start your new browser, it will ask you if you want it to be your default browser. Choose "yes". Afterwards, click on your Start menu, and choose "Program Access and Defaults". From the list, find Internet explorer, and uncheck the box next to "show this application". (again, I don't run Windows so I'm going from memory here; you may have to improvise a bit) Now your Internet Explorer icon should dissapear from the desktop. Next time you want to surf the Internet, you would simply click the icon for your new browser instead of Internet Explorer, like you previously had done. -AT
Pretty good AT, there is only minor differences.. It should look something like This Just untick 'Enable access to this program' beside Internet Explorer!
