Built a rig today, with 2gb DDR500 OCZ RAM, athlon 4200 X2 dual core, 2x7800 BFG vid cards, and 2x80 gb sata drives in a RAID striping array. I bench'd the thing, first in 3dmark01, and got a score of 21k. That's crap, my 9800 nears that. the SLI chip on the mobo is set to SLI, it's also set to use SLI in the nvidia drivers, and the bridge is connected to both cards. did I miss anything?thanks in advance >.< EDIT: I just benched it in 3dmark05, and got 9.5k points. I guess it is working
9.5 K doesnt sound right for that system, i think it should be more, that sounds more like an SLI 6800GT systme.
Make sure your chipset drivers are installed, as that tends to screw the pooch on benchmarking 3D Mark if they aren't installed.
Dude first of all that's one sweet rig, congrats And secondly I wouldn't worry about what you get in 3Dmark, a lot of people come up short, 01 is obvioulsy very dated and doesn't fully appreciate newer cards and most likely not SLI either. In my opinion the only true bench marks are games, if you can max everything out in FEAR or BattleField 2 and get more fps then you can shake a stick at you know it's working
All necessary drivers are installed and updated. Thanks. I was just wondering about 01 because I've seen X800's break the 30,000 points barrier. I'm downloading F.E.A.R and BF2 right now, should be done by tomorrow. As for the game benchmarks, I've been playing doom3 and CoD:2 max res, with AA and AF and it's been breezin through fine.
No prob, well glad to see you're games are loving the power. Bench marks are nothing really if you can't run the games you want properly.
Oh and the 9.5k seems decent, SLI has a varied effect as I've said and the 7800GTX get's well about 7800 points in 05, so you should be all set.
