I just recently bought a new Maxtor 200gb ATA/133 drive. But I don't have any free IDE slots to attach this drive to. I have the Asus k8v SE deluxe mobo with the PROMISE RAID controller that can support one IDE drive and two SATAs. Can I form a RAID using just this one drive or do I need one more. Please help. thank you.

For a RAID array you need 2 drives.

Is there any way that I can attach this new drive to the system without removing one of the existing drives since I don't have any free IDE slots left. I read something about JBOD in the RAID controller. Will that work with this PROMISE PDC20378 controller on this K8v-Se motherboard?

Matt555 thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not sure, what exactly do you have connected to your IDE slots?
Also for more RAID information look here

    I have on the

primary IDE: Master: WD 200gb w/ OS
    Slave: WD 250gb

    Secondary IDE: Master: DVD-ROM
    Slave: DVD/CD RW.

Thanks for the link. I'll take a look. Maybe there's something there.

Well you could always get a PCI IDE Controller.
