I’ve had a look around the other posts and from what I can see, nobody has the same prob as I have. for some unknown reason, I can only have audio from the left speaker and not the right. I’ve checked all the settings (except bios) and they all seem correct. the cable from my pc to the hi-fi is ok (tested with ipod and sound comes out of both speakers) and the connector is full pushed in. I’ve checked to see if the driver is correct and it is and up to date. can anyone help me with this problem?

Have you tried reinstalling the driver and checking to see that any jumper settings are correct.

    Failing those two

If you just purchased this motherboard, you probably should consider exchanging it for a new one.

i have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver with no luck. i didn't think about checking the jumpers. but after having a look and consulting the motherboard manual, the jumpers are in the correct positions. as for exchanging the board, i bought it from a mate. the box was still sealed when i bought it off him.

Run dxdiag from Start > Run, click on the direct sound tab and do the sound tests and see what happens.
